| Obverse description | Central field features a polychrome colored design of a branch bearing ripe red and yellow apples with green foliage, rendered in a traditional East Asian botanical style. A small unframed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears in a circular reserve at the top of the field. Tuvalu has no cattle. The nation's lunar series coins are issued under a licensing arrangement with the Perth Mint, which produces them for collector export rather than any domestic monetary purpose. The "2 Dollars" face value is nominal — no circulating coinage of this denomination exists in everyday Tuvaluan commerce.
