| Reverse description | The aluminium bronze centre depicts two wolf cubs in a naturalistic wilderness setting, surrounded by tall grasses and coniferous trees in the background, with a body of water suggested in the middle ground; the left cub is shown with head raised in a howling posture while the right cub stands alert, both rendered in fine detail by engraver Christie Paquet. The denomination '2 DOLLARS' arcs along the lower portion of the nickel ring, while 'CANADA' arcs along the upper portion, and the date '2012' appears to the right.
