| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the central field. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the bust. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left rim, with NIUE at the top and TWO DOLLARS along the right rim, all in raised Latin characters.
