| Obverse description | Against a deeply recessed black field, the right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is prominently struck in the upper portion of the rectangular flan, with the engraver's initials IRB incused below the portrait truncation. The legend TOKELAU arcs above the effigy, while ELIZABETH II curves beneath it. In the lower half of the obverse, a depiction of the Tokelauan traditional container (a decorative box bearing a cross motif) is centred above a ribbon cartouche inscribed MO TE ATUA in Latin script. The denomination TWO DOLLARS appears in the lower field. |
