| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, diademed and draped, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the engraver's initials IRB visible below the portrait. The legend ELIZABETH II and the issuer name NIUE appear above the effigy in two lines, separated by a horizontal rule. The date 2022 and the denomination 2 DOLLARS are inscribed below the portrait, likewise divided by a horizontal rule. The entire central design is framed by an elegant geometric guilloche border composed of repeating diamond and interlocking circular motifs, lending the rectangular flan a refined decorative character. |
