Additional information

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues commemorative coinage on behalf of its eight member territories, a monetary union originally established in 1965 as the East Caribbean Currency Authority. This shipwreck-themed release fits into a broader collector program leaning on the region's documented history of Spanish and British wrecks across the Lesser Antilles — waters that claimed hundreds of vessels between the 16th and 19th centuries, many still unexcavated.
