Reverse description Three-quarter length portrait of Robert Clive in 18th-century military dress coat adorned with a star medal, facing slightly left, occupying the left portion of the field. The background features a richly detailed battle scene depicting infantry soldiers, cavalry charges, and artillery pieces amid trees, evoking the campaigns of British India. The legend ROBERT CLIVE arcs along the lower left rim, followed by the life dates 1725-1774 continuing along the lower right. The composition is engraved by Willem Vis in a high-relief pictorial style.
