| Obverse description | Bimetallic-style proof issue featuring the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as executed by Susanna Blunt, depicted as a right-facing draped bust with a pearl necklace, set within a gold-plated inner disc surrounded by a polished silver outer ring. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left and D·G·REGINA along the upper right of the outer ring, with the commemorative double date 1996-2006 inscribed along the lower arc. A small maple leaf device appears at the top of the outer ring above the portrait.
