| Reverse description | A fully detailed polar bear strides purposefully to the right across a snow-covered Arctic landscape, with ice floes and distant mountains visible in the background, all contained within a raised inner circle. The design, attributed to Brent Townsend (initials BT visible at lower centre of the inner circle), faithfully replicates the iconic motif first introduced on the circulating toonie. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper outer ring, while 2 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower outer ring. The Winnipeg mint mark W appears to the right within the outer ring, and the engraver's initials BT are incuse at the base of the central design. |
