Issued under the New Delhi World Money Fair series, this piece was struck for the collector market rather than circulation — one of several host-city releases the Solomon Islands authorized through external minting arrangements during this period. The Central Bank's name appears on sovereign coinage, but the design and distribution were almost certainly handled by a private mint operating under license.
KM#433a distinguishes this from the base-metal issue, the "a" suffix denoting the silver variant produced in limited numbers for the fair.
