Additional information

Niue has long served as a licensing vehicle for novelty bullion issues, and this 2013 piece is squarely in that tradition — produced not to meet any domestic monetary need but to satisfy collector demand for Egyptian mythology themes in precious metal. The actual minting was almost certainly contracted to a European or Polish facility, as Niue itself has no mint infrastructure.

Nephthys, sister of Isis and funerary protector associated with the dead, was a logical subject for this type of collector series. KM#1215 confirms attribution within the Krause system but tells nothing about the issuing contractor behind the design.
