Tuvalu has no military history of its own — it gained independence from Britain in 1978 with a population under 10,000 and no standing army. The Canadian Hussars connection here is entirely a Perth Mint licensing arrangement, packaging Canadian regimental heritage into a coin issued by a Pacific microstate that functions primarily as a vehicle for Australian-minted collectibles.
