Obverse description The right-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II occupies the upper portion of the obverse field, accompanied by a detailed depiction of the Charles Bridge and an unconventional panoramic view of Prague Castle (Hradčany) as seen from Old Town Square. The composition blends the royal portrait with the celebrated Bohemian cityscape in an artistic manner characteristic of Czech Mint commemorative issues. The surrounding legend includes the denomination, date, issuer, fineness, and the monarch's name.

Additional information

Niue has issued commemorative silver dollars under licensing agreements since the 1990s, and by 2014 the program had expanded into elaborate themed series targeting European collector markets. The "Golden Prague" release belongs to a run of issues celebrating Central European architectural heritage, struck at the Česká mincovna facility in Jablonec nad Nisou — the same Czech mint responsible for many of that country's own collector issues.

KM#2177 is a catalog reference that places this squarely in the Krause-Mishler framework for Niue's extensive modern commemorative output, a series now numbering in the hundreds of types.
