Reverse description Detailed depiction of the ornate gilded wrought-iron Golden Gates (Золотые ворота) of the Catherine Palace at Tsarskoe Selo, rendered in high relief with intricate Baroque scrollwork and acanthus foliage. The double-leaf gate panels are surmounted by an elaborate cartouche bearing a double-headed eagle emblem, flanked by elaborate rococo ornamental ironwork. Sections of the palace's stone pilasters and flanking walls are visible to either side of the gates, providing architectural context. The Cyrillic inscription ЦАРСКОЕ СЕЛО appears in a recessed label along the lower rim, with the designer's initials SM discreetly placed in the lower right field.

Additional information

Niue's legal tender coin program has operated since the 1990s primarily as a vehicle for numismatic exports, with the island's sovereignty providing the issuing authority while production and distribution are handled almost entirely by external minting and marketing operations. The Golden Gate Bridge connection to Niue is purely commercial.
