| Obverse description | Diademed right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the lower central portion of the inner mirror-polished field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the right side of the inner field, while the denomination 2 DOLLARS is inscribed vertically to the left. The issuer NIUE and date 2017 appear on the outer matte border at the base, flanking two small amber-coloured gemstone inserts. The fineness mark Ag 999 and engraver's initials IRB are present in the lower field. The decorative outer border features an ornate scrollwork and floral motif in relief on a frosted ground, with a single larger amber-coloured cabochon gemstone set at the top centre. |
