Obverse description The obverse features the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, set within the lower central field of a coin shaped in the outline of a seated Easter bunny. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs to the left of the portrait and 'NIUE' appears above, while 'TWO DOLLARS' is inscribed to the right. The date '2020' is struck below the effigy in the lower field. The entire flan is struck to proof standard with mirror-polished fields against the shaped silhouette of the bunny form.

Additional information

Niue has leveraged its currency-issuing rights under its free association agreement with New Zealand to become one of the most prolific bullion and collector coin issuers in the Pacific, generating revenue that meaningfully supplements the island's limited GDP. The Easter Bunny series is part of that cottage industry — produced for the collector market, not circulation, and almost certainly never touching Niuean soil.
