| Reverse description | The reverse displays a detailed relief depiction of the facade of the Catherine Palace (Tsarskoye Selo, Russia), rendered in fine matte finish against a mirror-polished field. Elaborate Baroque-style acanthus scrollwork frames the architectural scene on all sides, with additional decorative flourishes in the lower corners. At the apex of the fan-shaped planchet, a circular amber-colored Swarovski crystal is set within an ornate foliate surround, evoking the celebrated Amber Room of the palace. The engraver's initials SM appear in the field. |
