| Reverse description | The reverse features a colourized rendition of Xhuwaji (Haida Grizzly Bear), a celebrated Haida art design by the renowned Haida artist Bill Reid, presented within the bimetallic centre. The design is executed in the traditional formline style of Northwest Coast Indigenous art, rendered in vivid colours of red, black, and white on a pale blue field, depicting the stylized bear's face with characteristic ovoid eyes, a broad toothy maw, and symmetrical formline elements. The artist's name BILL REID appears divided across the lower field of the outer ring, flanked by maple leaf privy marks, with the date 2020 inscribed below between two additional maple leaf devices. The composition pays tribute to Bill Reid's pivotal contribution to the revitalization of Haida art. |
