Reverse description A richly detailed high-relief scene commemorating the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest (9 AD). Dominating the lower foreground is a large, upward-gazing face evoking a fallen Roman commander, widely interpreted as Publius Quinctilius Varus. Behind and above, a dynamic composition depicts Germanic warriors in animal-skin garments confronting armoured Roman legionaries in crested helmets, with legionary standards and eagle insignia visible at lower right, bearing the inscription LEG XIX. The numeral XVII appears to the left amid the scene, referencing the three destroyed legions. Along the upper arc, the Slovak-language title BITKA V TEUTOBURSKOM LESE is inscribed, with the Latin cry VARE, VARE, REDE MIHI LEGIONES MEAS! arcing below it. The Kremnica mint mark and the designer's initials MS appear at lower right.
