| Additional information |
Niue's licensing arrangement with the New Zealand Mint has made the island one of the most prolific issuers of commemorative silver in the Pacific, despite a resident population of roughly 1,600. The Aurora series belongs to a wave of color-printed silver rounds issued under Niue's authority primarily for the collector market, with no meaningful circulation history on the island itself.
The .999 fineness places it outside standard sterling coinage practice — a deliberate choice to appeal to bullion-adjacent buyers.
