| Reverse description | The reverse presents a richly colored icon-style depiction of Archangel Michael rendered in the tradition of Byzantine Orthodox iconography against a gilded, ornately patterned gold background. The Archangel is portrayed in full figure, clad in red and gold military armor with large dark-feathered wings spread behind him, wearing a blue helmet and surrounded by a golden halo. In his right hand he wields an unsheathed sword, while his raised left hand holds a blue orb, and he stands triumphant above a prostrate, defeated figure beneath his feet. The abbreviated Greek inscription 'ΟΡ ΜΙΧΑ' appears at the upper field flanking the halo, with the full dedicatory legend 'ΑΡΧΑΓΓΕΛΟΣ ΜΙΧΑΗΛ' inscribed in the lower portion of the reverse. |
