Australia declared war on Germany in September 1939 within hours of Britain's own declaration, and by 1945 had suffered over 40,000 dead across theatres spanning North Africa, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia. The 75th anniversary series from the Perth Mint marked the occasion through a run of fractional gold issues — small enough to be accessible, but carrying the full .9999 fineness the mint has built its modern bullion reputation on.
