| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the Queen depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2 DOLLARS, with the date 2018 and the denomination and fineness inscription 2oz 9999 Ag also appearing in the field. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the effigy. The entire surface is rendered with an antiqued finish, enhancing the high-relief sculptural quality of the portrait. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a kookaburra in dynamic flight set against a detailed panoramic view of Perth's Kings Park, with the city skyline rendered in the background. The high-relief design captures the bird's outstretched wings and characteristic plumage with fine sculptural detail. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears within the design, along with the abbreviated legend NM. The antiqued finish lends the composition a rich, dimensional appearance, accentuating the contrast between the bird and the urban landscape behind it. |

| Additional information |
The Australian Kookaburra series launched in 1990 as one of the Perth Mint's earliest legal-tender bullion programs, predating the now-ubiquitous wave of high-relief collector issues by nearly two decades. The antiqued finish variant sits outside the standard bullion run entirely — produced in strictly limited quantities for the collector market and chemically treated after striking to accelerate surface toning, mimicking the appearance of aged silver without the decades required to get there.
High-relief dies wear significantly faster than standard production dies, which typically keeps mintages on these variants low even when demand is high.
