The legend CANADA arches across the upper portion of the coin, while the lower arc bears the inscriptions FINE PLATINUM 1/15 OZ PLATINE PUR. The purity designation 9995 appears twice in the field, flanking the left and right sides of the maple leaf respectively. A small privy mark appears at the base of the design.
