| Reverse description | The reverse depicts two colourised bottlenose dolphins leaping dynamically in mid-air above turbulent ocean waves, rendered in vivid blue and cyan applied colour against a darkened, antiqued silver field. The finely engraved wave composition, with cresting breakers and rocky outcroppings at lower right, frames the central marine scene with considerable artistic depth. The country name DOMINICA appears in flowing cursive script along the upper field, and the date 2023 is inscribed in the lower central field below the dolphins. The contrast between the vibrant colourisation of the dolphins and the monochrome treatment of the surrounding design elements creates a striking visual effect characteristic of modern commemorative coinage. |
