Part of a Marvel licensed series issued through the New Zealand Mint on behalf of Fiji, whose government has lent its currency authority to dozens of collectible coin programs with no meaningful domestic circulation intended. The arrangement is commercially straightforward: Fiji provides the legal tender framework, the NZ Mint handles production and distribution, and Marvel licenses the imagery.
Doctor Strange first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in July 1963, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
