| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional shield device with a figure of Neptune holding a trident accompanied by a reclining female figure, set against a background of waves, with a crescent moon and star above. A traditional Palauan outrigger canoe appears above the shield. Eight five-pointed stars are arranged symmetrically around the perimeter of the field.
