| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional shield device with a figure of Neptune holding a trident accompanied by a reclining female figure, set against a background of waves, with a crescent moon and star above. A traditional Palauan outrigger canoe appears above the shield. Eight five-pointed stars are arranged symmetrically around the perimeter of the field. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim in raised Latin letters, while the motto RAINBOW'S END appears in the lower portion of the shield.
