Additional information

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank serves eight island territories — Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines — and has issued collector coinage under a shared monetary authority since 1965, originally as the East Caribbean Currency Authority. The conch shell carries genuine regional weight: the queen conch was once a dietary staple across the Lesser Antilles, and its catastrophic overharvesting through the late 20th century prompted CITES Appendix II listing in 1992.
