Additional information

The collared lory (Phigys solitarius) is endemic to Fiji and remains one of the few lory species whose wild population is considered relatively stable — a genuine exception among Pacific island parrots, most of which have suffered severe decline through habitat loss and introduced predators. Fiji has issued collector silver in the nature series format since the early 2000s, largely targeting the European and Asian bullion gift market rather than domestic circulation.

These 28.28g/.925 blanks are struck by Pobjoy Mint under license, the same contractor behind dozens of similar Commonwealth wildlife issues from this period.
