| Obverse description | Central field features the Mexican national coat of arms — a golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a serpent — rendered in high relief and closely adapted from the design of the Mexican Libertad series. The central motif is flanked by an oak branch to the left and an olive branch to the right. In the lower central field, the Public Seal of Niue is prominently displayed, consisting of a crowned circular seal inscribed PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE with crossed weapons below and the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI on a ribbon. The legends NIUE and TWO DOLLARS curve along the upper periphery, while .999 FINE SILVER appears to the lower left and 1 TROY OUNCE to the lower right. The entire design is bordered by a decorative milled inner ring. |
