Reverse description The reverse presents a vivid full-color design in the style of a tarot card, depicting Card XXI — The World. A great serpentine dragon, rendered in rich shades of red and orange, coils in an ouroboros-like figure-eight configuration around a centrally placed globe showing the continents of the Earth. An eagle with outstretched wings occupies the upper right, clutching an olive branch, while a roaring bear dominates the lower right field amid stylized flames. The Aquarius zodiacal symbol appears in the upper left corner. The Roman numeral XXI is inscribed at the top center within a small cartouche, and the legend THE WORLD appears in the lower exergue, all framed by an Art Deco-style decorative border. The fineness inscription 1 oz 999 Fine Silver is incorporated into the design.

Additional information

Niue's arrangement with the New Zealand Mint has made the island one of the most prolific issuers of licensed collector silver in the Pacific, its $2 face value essentially functioning as a legal fiction that satisfies sovereignty requirements while the coins are priced entirely on their bullion and collector premium. The territory's GDP is smaller than most municipal budgets.

Charles III ascended following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, making 2025 issues still relatively early in his numismatic footprint as a reigning monarch.
