Niue has operated as a reliable vehicle for licensed pop-culture bullion since the early 2010s, issuing silver rounds under its legal tender framework through agreements with overseas minting houses — the coins are legal tender in name, but Niue's GDP would not sustain their production for a moment. This piece belongs to a DC Comics villain series, the commercial logic of which is straightforward: the collector overlap between comic book enthusiasts and silver stackers is large enough to support premium-priced one-ounce issues year after year.
