Obverse description The bimetallic obverse features the uncrowned effigy of King Charles III in right-facing profile, sculpted by Steven Rosati, set within the brass-plated aluminium bronze centre. The portrait presents the King in a contemporary style with naturalistic detail to the hair and collar. The legend CHARLES III is inscribed along the left arc of the outer nickel-plated steel ring, with D·G·REX continuing along the right arc. The date 2024 appears in the lower segment of the ring, and the engraver's initials SR are incuse in the lower field of the central disc.
