Additional information

Shuri Castle in Okinawa burned catastrophically in October 2019 when an electrical fault destroyed the main hall and several adjoining structures — a building that had already been reconstructed once after American artillery leveled it during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Restoration began almost immediately, funded in part by international donations, and is expected to complete around 2026.

Niue's numismatic program is administered through the New Zealand Mint, which issues coins under Niue's authority as a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand.
