Obverse description The Public Seal of Niue occupies the central field, depicting a stylized plant motif enclosed within a circular beaded border and a zigzag decorative band, all surmounted by a royal crown. The seal is flanked on either side by a wreath of elongated leaves, with two crossed implements below. A scroll beneath the seal bears the motto legend in two lines. The denomination TWO DOLLARS is inscribed along the upper rim, and the date 2023 appears at the bottom of the field.

Additional information

Niue has operated as a reliable vehicle for commemorative silver issues since the 1990s, licensing its sovereign mint authority to bullion and novelty coin programs that have no meaningful circulation function on the island itself — whose entire population sits below 2,000. This piece is a product of that arrangement, issued nominally under New Zealand monetary oversight but produced entirely for the collector market.
