Additional information

Niue has operated as a prolific licensing hub for pop culture coin programs since the early 2010s, with the New Zealand Mint striking the bulk of these issues under agreements that route legal tender authority through Niue's Crown dependency status. The Star Wars licensing arrangement with Lucasfilm — now Disney — has produced dozens of individual character releases, each technically circulating currency on an island of roughly 1,600 people who will never see them in commerce.

General Grievous first appeared in the 2003 animated micro-series before his theatrical debut in *Revenge of the Sith* (2005), which likely governs the character's depiction here under the current Disney licensing framework.
