Niue has issued legal tender coinage under licensing agreements with major IP holders since the early 2000s, using its nominal sovereignty to produce collectibles that would otherwise fall outside any national mint's remit. This Marvel series piece is among dozens struck under that arrangement, with the Royal Australian Mint handling production for most of the Niuean licensed issues.
Charles III's effigy appears here in his first years on coinage following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022.
