Obverse description The central field features the Public Seal of Niue set within a raised circular border, displaying a crowned heraldic emblem flanked by crossed implements above the legend ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI. The circular legend around the seal reads 2024 · NIUE 2 DOLLARS, with the Czech Mint mintmark appearing at the lower rim. Surrounding the central medallion, the entire field is richly decorated in high relief with an elaborate composition of botanically diverse flowers — including roses, daisies, and coneflowers — interspersed with foliage and stems. A finely detailed butterfly alights at the upper right of the central circle, its wings rendered with intricate engraving against the floral background.

Additional information

Niue has operated as a prolific bullion and commemorative licensing partner with the New Zealand Mint since the 1990s, lending its legal tender authority to collector issues that have no meaningful circulation on the island's roughly 1,600-person population. Preciosa, the Czech crystal manufacturer, has supplied decorative elements to numismatic programs across multiple mints — their involvement here is a commercial arrangement, not a craft tradition.
