| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Bronwyn Scott, features a central colour-applied purple poppy blossom in full relief, symbolising remembrance of war animals. Surrounding the poppy are the portrait busts of three war animals: a dog facing left in the upper centre, a horse facing left on the right, and a smaller animal (cat or rabbit) on the left. Two doves in flight appear in the upper field flanking the dog. The entire composition is framed by an intricate wreath of poppy stems, buds, and blooms in the lower field, with the legend WAR ANIMALS · REMEMBRANCE inscribed in an arc below the central motif, accompanied by the Canberra mint mark C and the engraver's initials BS. |
