Additional information

Perth Mint's ongoing "Kangaroo" bullion-adjacent series has run in various forms since the late 1980s, but the 2024 issues carry additional numismatic weight as the first to bear the Jody Clark effigy of Charles III following the transition from Elizabeth II. The gilded treatment — fine gold deposit over fine silver — is a production technique Perth has refined into something closer to a house specialty, used here to isolate the kangaroo motif against the silver field.

Clark's portrait was originally commissioned for UK coinage in 2015 and has since been adopted across Commonwealth mints with only minor adaptations.
