| Obverse description | The obverse is designed in the form of a playing card, with an elaborate antique-finish relief composition. At the upper centre, a skull wearing a wide-brimmed cowboy hat is rendered in high relief, flanked by two pairs of crossed pistols and rifles. The legend DEAD OR ALIVE appears in scrolled banners at both the top and bottom of the field, framing the central motif. At the centre, the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia is depicted within an ornate cartouche, surrounded by the inscriptions REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA, THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE, 2024, and 2 DOLLARS. The entire composition is bordered by an intricate decorative frame evoking the style of a playing card back. |
