Additional information

Redonda is an uninhabited volcanic islet in the Caribbean, part of Antigua and Barbuda, with no government, no residents, and no monetary system. The "Kingdom of Redonda" is a literary fiction originating in the 1860s when Matthew Dowdy Shiell claimed the island and later passed the "kingship" to his son M.P. Shiel, the science fiction writer, who in turn bequeathed it to the poet John Gawsworth. The title has since been disputed by multiple self-proclaimed claimants simultaneously. Coins issued under this banner have no legal tender status anywhere.
