At left, an oval portrait vignette presents a uniformed military officer in three-quarter view; at centre, a large pastoral vignette shows several figures in a rowboat approaching shore, a dog visible at the bow. Reverse description Printed in olive-brown intaglio, the reverse is structured around an elaborate guilloche framework with large numeral '2' counter medallions at left and right. The central oval vignette portrays two agricultural workers harvesting grain in a field, with farm buildings and trees in the background; 'DOMINION OF CANADA' curves in a banner along the upper arc of the central medallion, and 'TWO DOLLARS' occupies a straight panel at its base. The printer's imprint appears at the lower margin.
