| Additional information |
Andorra's tiny gold issues of this period were produced under a licensing arrangement with the French Monnaie de Paris, which struck them on Andorra's behalf — the principality having no mint of its own. The Our Lady of Lourdes theme reflects Andorra's close ecclesiastical ties to the Catholic Church of Urgell, whose bishop serves as one of the two co-princes governing the principality to this day.
At 0.73 grams, these pieces contain only a fraction of a gram of fine gold, placing them among the smallest bullion-adjacent coins in European production from this period.
