Reverse description The numeral '2' is prominently displayed at centre, interrupted by the circular hole of the flan, with the inscription DEUTSCHE MARK in two lines below in bold capital lettering. Symmetrical sprigs of wheat and grapevine with leaves and clusters of grapes flank the central motif on either side, evoking agricultural abundance. The date 1950 appears in the upper field above the central design, and the entire composition is framed by a beaded inner border. The design reflects the agricultural symbolism common to German coinage of the post-war reconstruction era.
