Vittorio Amadeo III ruled Savoy during one of the most turbulent periods in the dynasty's history, culminating in the French Revolutionary Wars that would eventually force him to cede Nice and Savoy by the Treaty of Paris in 1796 — the same year this type's production ended. The small copper issues of his reign circulated hard through the markets of Turin and Piedmont, largely ignored by collectors for two centuries.
KM#64 spans a 23-year production window, meaning die marriages vary considerably across the run.
