Reverse description The reverse of this Swedish copper plate money presents a broad, flat, undecorated cast copper surface with a markedly rough and uneven texture, the natural result of the casting process used in the production of plåtmynt. No deliberate design, legend, or stamp is applied to this face; the surface exhibits casting irregularities, surface porosity, and minor cracks consistent with large-format copper plate coinage. The edges of the plate are uneven and irregular, reflecting the imprecise nature of the casting technique employed at the Stockholm Mint during the reign of Charles XII.
