Reverse description Printed in brown on plain paper. The central vignette, derived from an oil painting by Tomás Povedano, illustrates the rescue of Dulcehe at Quepos by Juan Vázquez de Coronado in 1563, with a group of indigenous figures, Spanish conquistadors in armour, and a horse rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. The scene is framed within a rectangular panel, flanked by ornate circular medallions bearing the denomination numeral, with the issuer title at the top and DOS COLONES in a cartouche at the bottom.
