Comments

The Bank of Eastern Chekiang (浙東銀行) was a regional institution operating in what is now Zhejiang Province during the final phase of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Notes issued in 1945 fall into a complicated transitional window — Japanese surrender came in August of that year, and provincial and guerrilla-backed banks in the region were issuing currency in circumstances that often outpaced any formal monetary authority.

The Pick unlisted status is telling. Documentation for small-denomination regional issues from wartime Zhejiang remains fragmentary, and surviving examples rarely surface with solid provenance.
