Reverse description The denomination numeral 2 is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, with the word CENTS inscribed immediately below. The country name CEYLON arcs along the upper periphery in bold capital Latin letters. The date 1951 appears in the lower central field, flanked by decorative stops. Flanking the central device on either side are inscriptions in Sinhala and Tamil scripts denoting the value, arranged in two horizontal registers near the lower portion of the field. A beaded inner border follows the scalloped edge of the coin.
